Tag! Pass it On

Part of sustainability is shopping locally. By supporting independent shops in your community, you are helping to keep money and jobs in the area. Tag! Pass it On is a community loyalty card scheme that gives you benefits that businesses can offer you for only £5 per year. Many people discover hidden gems in their area that they didn't know about until they joined the scheme.
We have a group of volunteers called Identity bringing this scheme to Burnage in the coming weeks, but have a look at their online directories to see what offers are available in nearby areas. So far the scheme is available in Chorlton, Withington, Didsbury and Levenshulme and you might be surprised at just how quickly you get a return on your investment.

Community Gardening

Learn how to grow your own fruit and veg at Westcroft Community Centre.
For more information, please contact Westcroft on, 0161 448 232.
You can also grown your own food at home as a long term solution, with the help of Eat Green's Friday afternoon garden tool library. You can borrow tools ranging from forks and spades to gloves and goggles for absolutely nothing. Again, help and advice will be provided where needed on how to use the tools and what to use them for. this will not only benefit your health in numerous ways, but the National Society of Allotment & Leisure Gardeners estimates you could save £1,3000 per year!
These services are at Westcroft Community Centre on Fridays, 12:30pm-3:30pm.
We're looking to start a community garden of our own at Westcroft Community Centre, but if you want to see how it works elsewhere or join a more established scheme, here are some links to their information:
